Last updated: 1 September 2026. These terms govern use of homesecurityfx.com and residential security services offered by HomeSecurityFX. They are written for households and small residential buildings. They are not a substitute for a signed installation contract where one is issued after a survey.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
HomeSecurityFX designs, supplies, installs, configures, and supports connected home protection: cameras, video doorbells, fingerprint and keypad locks, intrusion sensors, sirens, smoke and heat devices that we agree to link into a household account, and related training. The website itself is an information and enquiry channel. Submitting a form does not create a duty to attend a property until we confirm an appointment in writing by email.
By browsing the site, requesting a quote, booking a survey, or allowing technicians onto a property, you agree to these terms. If you use the site on behalf of a household, you confirm you have authority to bind the adults who will hold app logins and lock codes.
2. Nature of home security services
No residential system can promise that a property will never be entered, that a fire will never start, or that every visitor will be identified. Cameras have fields of view, weather limits, and lighting limits. Locks depend on door condition and user behaviour. Alarms depend on sensors remaining powered, closed, and not bypassed. Our obligation is to specify, install, and explain a system that is fit for the risks described in the survey, using reasonable skill and care, not to underwrite every possible incident.
Video and audio capture may be regulated in shared buildings, rented homes, and spaces that overlook neighbouring land. You are responsible for telling us about tenancy rules, building by-laws, and any agreement with neighbours. We will not knowingly aim a camera into a neighbouring dwelling’s private interior. If a later change of furniture, trees, or building work creates such a view, you must ask us to revisit the angle.
3. Surveys, quotes, and changes
A quote is based on information you provide and on what we can see during a visit. Hidden wiring, rotten frames, metal doors that will not take a specified lock, weak Wi-Fi, or landlord restrictions may change the price or the product list. We will not start extra paid work without your confirmation by email unless the extra work is required for safety on the same visit and you agree on site.
Published package prices on the pricing page are starting illustrations. They are not a binding tariff for every floor plan. Cable length, height access, specialty cylinders, and night-vision upgrades are typical variables.
If you cancel a booked install with less than two working days’ notice, we may charge a reasonable call-out fee to cover allocated labour and restocking of opened kits. Custom-ordered locks or cameras that cannot be returned unused may still be payable.
4. Access, safety, and your cooperation
You must provide safe access, a responsible adult on site for angle approval, and truthful information about pets, alarm history, and who may receive lock codes. Attics, roofs, and high eaves may require extra equipment; we may postpone work that we judge unsafe in weather or on unstable structures.
You must keep internet service, electrical supply, and account passwords in a state that allows the system to function. We are not responsible for an internet provider outage, a password shared in a group chat, or a battery camera that was not charged according to the handover notes.
5. Hardware, software, and third-party platforms
Many cameras and locks rely on manufacturer cloud apps. Those apps have their own licences, uptime, and privacy notices. HomeSecurityFX does not control manufacturer servers, app store updates, or a brand’s decision to end a product line. We will tell you during specification if a device depends on a particular cloud. Local storage options, where chosen, still require you to maintain disks or cards and to replace them when they fail.
Firmware updates can change menus and features. We recommend allowing security updates. We are not liable for a manufacturer update that removes a feature you liked, provided we configured the device to a professional standard at handover.
Title in goods passes when paid in full. Until then, devices remain our property even if mounted. Unpaid systems may be disabled or collected after written notice, without affecting any other rights.
6. Monitoring, alerts, and emergency response
Unless a written monitoring add-on says otherwise, alerts go to the phones and emails you nominate. We do not dispatch emergency services by default. If you ask neighbours or a patrol firm to react to sirens, that arrangement is yours. False alarms caused by pets, décor, open windows, or disabled sensors are not a defect in workmanship if we trained you on those causes.
Smoke and heat devices we install as part of a linked plan are intended to warn occupants. They are not a certified fire-engineering design for a whole building unless that scope is written into the contract. Keep escape routes clear. Test devices as shown in the handover sheet.
7. Data from cameras, locks, and forms
Video, lock histories, and biometric templates stored in a lock or in a manufacturer app are primarily under your account. Our privacy policy explains what we collect on this website and during a job. You must not use cameras to harass occupants or to record in rooms where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy, such as bathrooms, unless a lawful and exceptional purpose is documented and we have declined that work.
Fingerprint data typically lives on the lock or in the vendor app. We do not require you to send fingerprint images to our inbox. Do not email biometric files to us.
8. Website use
You may not scrape the site in a way that overloads it, impersonate HomeSecurityFX, or post malware through forms. Content, layout, logo, and photographs on this site are owned by HomeSecurityFX or used with permission. You may share links; you may not copy pages into a competing catalogue.
Forms on this static site run in your browser for validation. A success message means the page accepted your entries, not that a ticket is already in a technician’s diary until we follow up by email.
9. Warranties and remedies
Workmanship on mounting and configuration is warranted for twelve months from handover unless the proposal states a longer period. Manufacturer warranties on devices run according to the maker’s card. The workmanship warranty does not cover storm damage, attempted forced entry that bends a lock, paint over sensors, user deletion of app settings, or third-party electricians who alter our circuits.
If a device is dead on arrival, we will arrange exchange under the supplier process. Your first remedy for workmanship issues is a return visit. We may repair, reconfigure, or replace at our option. Refunds, where required by consumer law that applies to your purchase, are processed after inspection.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable consumer law, HomeSecurityFX is not liable for lost video that was never stored because a card was full, a subscription lapsed, or a camera was unplugged; for theft or damage that occurs despite a working system; or for indirect loss such as missed work or distress. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or for personal injury caused by our negligence.
Our total liability for a given job is limited to the amount paid for that job in the twelve months before the claim, except where the law forbids a cap.
11. Subscriptions, email, and account closure
Newsletter signup and unsubscribe are handled through the pages linked in the footer. Monitoring or clip-storage plans renew as described in your confirmation email. You may ask to end a plan; unused time is handled as stated in that confirmation. Closing a manufacturer app account may erase cloud clips; export anything you need before you delete it.
12. Complaints
Email info@homesecurityfx.com with the property reference, a description of the issue, and photos where useful. We aim to acknowledge within two working days and to propose a next step within ten working days. Escalations go to the operations lead named on your handover sheet.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update this page for new services, new device categories, or legal changes. The date at the top is the effective date. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the revised text for website use. Existing signed installation contracts keep their own wording unless both sides agree to vary them.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms: info@homesecurityfx.com. Working hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 18:00. Do not send lock master codes or live camera passwords in an unsolicited first message; we will give you a safer channel if a job is already open.
